NSW Smart Shuttle

Description:

The NSW Smart Shuttle is a highly autonomous vehicle that has the capability to operate without a driver. Fitted with 2D and 3D LIDARs as well as machine stereovision cameras, the NSW Smart Shuttle can detect and anticipate the risk of collisions, and actively deploys its brakes in response to such risks. The objectives of the two-year research trial of the NSW Smart Shuttle (the Trial) at Sydney Olympic Park are to:

+ understand how Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAVs) will operate as part of the Transport Network;
+ support the development of new business and partnership models, products and services that enable CAVs to operate as part of the Transport Network;
