
Automatic Train Protection (ATP) Project
The ATP rollout project saw the improvement of safety across TfNSW’s suburban and Intercity Rollingstock fleet. ATP technology is a generic name used globally to describe a range of train safety technologies. This project used European Train Control System (ETCS) technology, which
set a new safety precedent in NSW’s electrified rail network.
Scope :
- Conducting audits on documentation and processes of BroadSpectrum, AMEY UK, AMEY AUS, SMEC, Arcadis, and JMDR.
- Providing assessments of Safety Assurance activities and management services.
- Managing stakeholder expectations and requirements with regular meetings and reports.
- Providing assessments for documentation such as Quality Management Report and Design Management Plan.
- Conducting monthly meetings to keep stakeholders aware of their works.
- Providing observational management when on-site.
- Conducting monthly reports to keep stakeholders aware of their works.
- Managing their own works in conjunction with TfNSW’s Rollout plan.
- Conducting audits on documentation of different contractors / companies.
- Consolidating their audit findings into reports for stakeholders to abide by.
- Providing assessments for documentation such as SAP, SAR, HL, Safety Requirement Traceability Matrix, and Design Assurance Report.
- Performing audit services on works surrounding safety throughout the entirety of the project lifecycle.
- Providing their auditing findings into ISA plans and ISA reports.
