CWG has built a strong project track record in rail, mining, automation, space and defence — with specialist capabilities and clients in each.
CWG has an extensive track record in the rail sector, from major signalling and train control programs in NSW and WA to infrastructure maintenance reviews in New Zealand. Our capability spans the full rail system lifecycle — from early feasibility and systems definition through to safety case, regulatory approval and network handover.
CWG has been at the forefront of mining automation and decarbonisation programs in Western Australia. Our team has delivered safety assurance, systems engineering and project management on some of the most technically complex and commercially significant mining programs in Australia — including the world's first heavy haul Virtual Block deployment and multiple Battery Electric Locomotive programs.
CWG has supported the introduction of autonomous vehicle systems on public roads and private mining roads, including providing ministerial approvals support for Australia's first autonomous vehicle trials on public roads. We bring functional safety expertise, regulatory engagement capability and operational readiness support to automation programs across road, rail and mining.
CWG holds a Deed of Standing Offer under the Australian Government's Space Capabilities and Services Panel (DISR, January 2026). We bring our proven approach to safety assurance, project management and systems engineering to Australia's emerging space sector — applying the same engineering rigour we have developed on safety-critical rail, mining and automation programs.
CWG's capabilities in safety-critical systems engineering, independent assurance, cybersecurity and complex program management directly apply to defence programs. We are actively growing our defence sector presence, bringing the same technical rigour and government-recognised credentials that our clients rely on in rail, mining and automation.
CWG's experience in battery electric locomotive programs, autonomous systems and novel technology introduction positions us well to support the energy transition in heavy industry. Our work on BEL programs across Rio Tinto, Fortescue and HanRoy — including direct ONRSR engagement — gives us a unique understanding of what it takes to introduce zero-emission technology into safety-critical operational environments.
